PROJECT ENGINEER at Chromalloy, Los Angeles, CA
Leading Repair and Overhaul facility has an opening for a Project Engineer in their South Bay location. We are a privately held company with a major customer base of commercial and military airlines. We are seeking an experienced engineer with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in metallurgical processes, materials, mechanical or aeronautical engineering. Approximately 3/5 years of hands on experience in a jet turbine engine shop required. Familiarity with FAA 145 Repair Station operations are a plus. Candidates must be familiar with blades and vanes repair to succeed in this position.
Essential job duties include:
Improve existing repairs and technical data and when required - develop new processes and procedures to help us stay competitive - (weld, braze and coating)
Investigate processing problems, identify solutions, and work with all levels to implement changes.
Provide technical leadership for assigned areas and processes.
Disposition production discrepancies.
Write procedures, specifications and other technical documents.
Support production personnel – all levels – all departments.
Perform repair evaluations.
Develop procedures for work done on O.E.M. components
Maintain production standards/quality to support our Ethical Commitments to Quality Parts delivered On Time – First Time.
Computer skills must include a proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Teamwork is essential and the ability to handle multiple assignments a must.
